I am writing a series of posts on worldview theory, so-called “mortality salency”, and how it makes it so difficult to walk away from this kind of cult.

This is timely for me. I am, if you remember, Sandy from Dr Jennette’s lab long, long ago.
Watch this please. I would love to get your considered opinion.

Martin is a genius you will see that. Robert – jury still out.
Oh, my goodness. Of course I remember you. How are you doing? Talk about a blast from the past. I assume you’ve moved on from UNC. I’m just a few months away from retirement myself.
I’ll take a look at the video. I have a number of duty days all bunched up over the weekend and early next week, so I won’t have a chance until late next week. But I’ll take a look.

Thanks. No hurry. i just wanted your opinion since you just popped up. Answer to prayer? Could be. This is both an amazing time and totally weird.
i can’t believe you are retiring! You’re just a kid. 😉
My sister and I moved to a farmette about 10 miles west of CH in 1999. It seems like I’ve been retired for a long time, but not as long as this lockdown.
Heh. Yeah. I gave a talk at the Association of Southern Pathology Chairs a couple of years ago, and Gene Siegal was there as the Interim Chair in Birmingham. He was in the Surgical Pathology group at Chapel Hill when I was a resident — I don’t know if you remember him or not. I was talking about getting ready to retire and he said “You know, you don’t really start feeling old until your residents start retiring.”
