Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay have written a stunning book examining critical/postmodern theory and it’s effects on society. The book is called “Cynical Theories: How activist scholarship made everything about race, gender, and identity — and why this harms everybody.”
It is perhaps the best relatively short, accessible description that does not fall prey to the same problem that people who write postmodern articles have — of dropping into so much jargon that it becomes incomprehensible.
Here’s an excellent review. The review is written by Helen Dale, who is best known for winning a major literary prize only to be attacked for having the wrong identity. That story is here.
