This is the kidney from an older woman who died of sepsis.\u00a0 It is a classic renal stone that has gotten too large to pass and has caused obstruction.\u00a0 Note the blunting of the papilla and thinning of the cortex wiht expansion of the pelvis. Nothing novel here, but it may be useful for lecture for someone.<\/p>\n
